Complete renovation of a semi-detached house

An intervention that reinterprets the contemporary Mediterranean home through a serene material base—natural stone and oak—upon which chromatic accents in clay tones are introduced, creating a more fluid relationship between interior and exterior.

This project proposes the interior and exterior transformation of a semi-detached house with the aim of creating brighter, more open, and contemporary spaces, while maintaining a warm and serene atmosphere.

The intervention begins with a reorganization of the domestic space, eliminating partitions to generate a more fluid relationship between the kitchen and dining room and reinforcing the visual continuity between the different rooms. A sliding glass door allows for the occasional separation of these spaces without losing the feeling of spaciousness.

In the living room, the project redefines the main wall by integrating a fireplace and a custom-made piece of furniture that articulates the space and adds character to the overall design. The available volume under the staircase is utilized to incorporate built-in storage and a small work area.

The selection of materials focuses on a combination of natural stone in cream tones and oak wood, creating a warm and timeless foundation. Upon this serene palette, chromatic accents in clay tones and textiles with richer textures and colors are introduced, adding character and depth to the whole without disrupting the overall balance of the space.

The lighting is designed to be indirect and enveloping, integrated into architectural elements and furnishings to generate a softer and more comfortable domestic atmosphere.

The design extends to the exterior, where the terrace and pool area are conceived as a natural extension of the house. A light wooden pergola shelters the outdoor dining area and the open-air kitchen, designed to allow enjoyment of the garden for much of the year. The boundary of the plot is defined by a ceramic lattice that filters views and adds rhythm and texture to the garden, creating a lighter and more Mediterranean enclosure than traditional walls.

The result is a bright and welcoming home, where the interior architecture, materials, and light combine to create a contemporary and balanced environment.
